Description - Korčula
Korcula Island is the sixth largest island in the Adriatic Sea. It is located in the south of Croatia, in the Dalmatian region, between Split and Dubrovnik.
The beauty of the island's nature is an asset that makes many travelers arrive to Korcula Island every year. But also its historical and cultural heritage. On Korcula Island there are two big cities: the medieval town of Korcula, which takes the name of the island, in the East, and the town of Vela Luka, in the West.
The town of Korcula is a must to visit, it is a real jewel, with its medieval walls, towers, old town, beautiful buildings and narrow streets. Visit the Revelin Tower, St. Mark's Cathedral (you can climb its bell tower for a panoramic view of the town of Korcula, 3€), the House of Marco Polo (he spent his youth there), the Marco Polo Museum and the Korcula Town Museum, among others.
